Welcome to the Albany

Our ambition is to become the ‘Go to’ place for progress and innovation in learning within Alternative Provision in the East of England. Our core purpose is to re-engage learners to enhance their life choices. We know, from the testimonials of former students that we absolutely deliver on this goal.

One student once described her experience at The Albany as ‘Thumbs up to a new beginning!’

Believe Believe Engage Believe Engage Achieve

At The Albany, every day is a new day, every moment a new opportunity to learn. Our past does not define us. Everyone can learn and anyone can change. Young people coming to The Albany may feel that they can’t succeed but we know they can. We help our students and their families to ‘Believe’ in themselves, ‘Engage’ in their learning (academic, creative, physical, social and emotional), and ‘Achieve’ in so many areas of their life.
We aim to ‘transform pupils’ lives because … (we)… never give up on anyone.’ [Ofsted, July 2017}

The Albany is a learning community, where everyone is part of our ‘Albany Family’. In our recent Ofsted visit (July 2017), they recognised that we ‘go the extra mile every day to build positive relationships with … (our) … pupils. These relationships are key to your success in re-engaging pupils with their education.’
